KrisFlyer miles to yuu Points: rate, value and Kris+ comparison
Easier than before, but still poor value for most KrisFlyer members.
yuu Singapore is promoting an improved conversion rate of 1 KrisFlyer mile to 1.5 yuu Points, a lower 1,600-mile minimum transfer and a limited-time 10% bonus. The convenience is real—but the value remains weak.
KrisFlyer to yuu conversion rate and value
yuu Points ordinarily offset purchases at the rate of 200 points = S$1. At the standard conversion rate, one KrisFlyer mile produces only 0.75 cents of yuu value.
With the advertised 10% bonus, each KrisFlyer mile produces 1.65 yuu Points, worth 0.825 cents per mile.
| Miles | Standard value | With 10% bonus |
|---|---|---|
| 1,600 | S$12.00 | S$13.20 |
| 10,000 | S$75.00 | S$82.50 |
| 50,000 | S$375.00 | S$412.50 |
| 80,000 | S$600.00 | S$660.00 |
Kris+ vs yuu for expiring KrisFlyer miles
If your KrisFlyer miles are approaching expiry and a flight redemption is not practical, transferring them to Kris+ is generally better than converting them to yuu Points.
Singapore Airlines currently permits a 1:1 conversion from KrisFlyer miles to KrisPay miles. Within Kris+, 100 KrisPay miles = S$1, giving each mile a value of exactly 1 cent.
For miles that would otherwise expire, converting to Kris+ effectively gives you another six calendar months to spend them. More precisely, this is not an extension of the original KrisFlyer miles: they become KrisPay miles with a new six-calendar-month validity period after the month of transfer.
Converted KrisPay miles cannot be moved back into KrisFlyer and can no longer be redeemed for flights.

Why GenieMiles considers yuu poor value
KrisFlyer miles can often deliver substantially more value when used for suitable flights. A reasonable target is approximately 1.5 to 2.0 cents per mile, depending on the route, cabin, award availability, cash fare and taxes.
At 1.5 cents per mile, 50,000 miles represent around S$750 of realistic flight value. The same 50,000 miles become only S$412.50 of yuu value—even after the bonus.
When could yuu still make sense?
- Kris+ is unsuitable: you cannot use its participating merchants before the KrisPay miles expire.
- A small stranded balance: the lower 1,600-mile minimum lets you dispose of an otherwise unusable remainder.
- A better yuu reward: a specific reward may provide more than the normal 0.5-cent-per-point cash-offset value.
Should you convert KrisFlyer miles to yuu Points?
Keep your miles for a sensible KrisFlyer flight redemption if you can realistically use them. If they are expiring and everyday spending is the objective, check Kris+ before yuu. For the wider earning and transfer strategy, see our KrisFlyer beginner’s guide.
The lower minimum makes yuu easier. The bonus makes it better. Neither makes it good.
